This may be old but...
Thanks to Major2341@worldnet.att.net for sending me this:
i was watching fox sports news on thursday and thought i'd pass this interesting encounter i winitced between utah jazz foward karl malone and host to "The Last Word", Jim Rome.
Karl Malone was on The Last Word with Jim Rome talking about the NBA session among other things. It got interesting when Rome brought up Dennis Rodman and the tag-team wrestling match he and Malone had in WCW. Rome commented on how wrestling discraced Malone and his reputation as a basketball player. Most notably his good reputation as an "athlete". They showed a clip of the match and Rome commented that he should throw "the purple trunks on and wrestle". Malone defended the business by saying Rome wouldn't last one day in the WCW Powerplant. Malone comented on how wrestling was his boyhood dream and that he would love to do it again this off-season. The rest of the interview went like this:
Rome: I'd much rather see you stick to basketball and leave the wrestling alone.Wrestling is just fake and crude.
Malone: It's not fake, they're real athletes...
Rome: I'm sure they're athletes..it's still fake.
Malone: It's not fake...
Rome: It's %100 fake...
Malone: Ok, listen...take 100 athletes, and have them take a weekend out of there current contract...and have them take a pole being totaly honest with you...send them to Atlanta and see if they can do it the right way and guarantee that they wont get hurt...i guarantee that outta the hundred...%75-80 would do it...
Rome: I'll go with that...it's still %100 fake...
Malone:Absolutely not! It's real!
Rome: Yea...real fake.
(from here they changed the subject back to the NBA.)
Malone looked very upset and joked with Rome that they should have a match. "I'd cream you" Malone commented at one point. Rome was amused by Malone's defence of the business and thought the whole arguement was a joke.
