ZIPLABEL.PM6 is a PageMaker 6.0 for Macintosh template that will let you create personalized labels for the clear plastic jewel boxes supplied with Iomega's Zip disks for their Zip Drive. Style definitions have been set up to create indented lists of the folders, files and subfolders on your Zip disk, as well as the title of the disk itself (currently set up as "My Stuff," but you can change that to anything you want). Styles are set to use Helvetica and Times, since every Mac owner has these fonts. You can be as creative as you want with different fonts by simply modifying the style definitions. The spine label has the disk name reverse-printed in paper color against a black background. If you have a color printer, you might want to use a variety of colors for the spines to color-code your disk collection.

Even if you don't want to catalog your Zip disks, you can have a lot of fun with clip art on the labels. (My husband loves the special Playmaker Football label I made for him, complete with his team's name and clip art of a running back.)

The jewel box labels will be more durable if you print on something a little heavier than standard bond paper. If you do print on bond, you might want to slide Iomega's original card label inside your paper label to keep the whole arrangement neater as you slip the disk in and out of the box.

I hope you enjoy using this template!
